Joining MH Car and Bike Club
If you'd like to join us and get your pride and joy on club plates with no bullshit, you've come to the right place.
Here's what you need to do:
- Have a RWC for your vehicle (unless transferring from another club)
- Contact us to arrange a visit in the Greater Geelong area. If you are outside Greater Geelong we can still help to organise your permit. Let us know and we will send you details on what we need.
- Send us a copy of the Roady so we can prefill some forms
- When we visit we will do the following:
- Take photos of the vehicle
- Walk you through the club permit requirements and VicRoads rules
- Explain what you need to take with you to VicRoads
- Complete the VicRoads forms with you (we will bring everything)
- Ask you to fill in the membership form
- Take your membership and joining fees and write you a receipt
- Our fee is $150 for new members, consisting of $100 joining fee and $50 Membership for the first year. If you are already a member then the $100 fee applies for each vehicle
- We will provide paperwork and guide you through the process and the rules
- You then visit a VicRoads office, pay their fee, and get the plates, sticker, and log book.
- You then advise us (either Perry or David) of your new plate number so we can update our records.
Transfer to MH Car and Bike Club from another club
Transferring from another club is relatively easy and we can help you with the process. Here's what happens:
- Provide us with your current Club Permit plate number
- We need to inspect the vehicle and take photos. If you are outside Geelong, then we can help with doing this remotely
- We complete a VicRoads Vehicle Eligibility form for each vehicle that you wish to transfer
- You fill in our club membership form and pay our fee (currently $150 which includes the first year of membership)
- We provide two letters for you to take to VicRoads - one from us advising that you have joined and wish to transfer a vehicle (or vehicles). The other is from you to state that you are leaving a (named) previous club and are joining MH Car and Bike Club Inc.
- You take the VicRoads Vehicle Eligibility forms along with the two letters to VicRoads and arrange the transfer. There's no VicRoads fee unless your normal renewal is due
- In some cases (such as when a renewal is due) VicRoads may print off a new renewal form for us to sign
